The Summer of Bitcoin is a summer internship program that aims to introduce university students to bitcoin and open-source developments around the world.
You can find out how bitcoin works, contribute to bitcoin projects, get a summer job, a fully open source development grant, or a position in one of the most popular bitcoin companies, and get bitcoin as a scholarship.
A global program that provides students with open source organizations, free software, and technologies that run bitcoin so they can write code and be part of these communities while earning some BTC on the go! Organizations provide educators who guide the entire process, from community learning to contribute to the code. Students will join and familiarize themselves with the bitcoin open source community and make good use of the summer break.
Eligibility
- They are looking for college students (18+) in any field interested in learning about the growth of open source and contributing to the growth of Bitcoin. • Fill out the application form

How does it work
1 - Apply - Interested students apply for a program based on their background and go through a screening cycle.
2- Learn - Students under the exam will learn how to create bitcoins from a composite set of assets and submit a project proposal.
3- contribution -Admitted students contribute to open-source bitcoin projects.
4- Find a job - Students who do very well focus on a career in bitcoin.

- Choose a developer footprint if you love programming and want to contribute to open-source bitcoin projects.
2- Designer Track
- Choose a follower designer if you want to design and create beautiful user experiences for bitcoin products and open-source services.

The Entire timeline of the summer of bitcoin.
1 - Student enrollment period
January 1st - March 1st
Students can register for a piece of their choice starting January 1st. The deadline for applications is March 1st, but we recommend those interested in the program register as soon as possible to increase the selection possibilities.
2 -Screening round
January 1st - March 15th
Candidates will be assigned an exam assignment based on the applied composition.
Developer Track
Candidates for the developer program will be assigned a coding assignment to test their coding and algorithmic skills. Candidates with a strong qualification in each coding platform or candidates with previous experience with GSoC as an equivalent open-source program may be eligible to proceed directly to the next round.
Designer Track
Candidate design students will be assigned a design assignment to test their prototyping and design thinking skills.
3 - Proposal Round
February 15 - March 31
Students who successfully complete the assessment task are invited to an exclusive Discord server, where they receive resources where they can learn about bitcoin, ask questions and write project proposals based on the project ideas posted on the website. Project proposals will be published on the website by February 15th. All proposals must be submitted by March 31st.
4-Project review period
March 31 - April 15
-Teachers evaluate and select project proposals. Admitted students announced
April 15
-Startup and onboarding program
May 9 - May 23
-Admitted students connect with their teachers and begin planning their projects and milestones. Students complete two weeks of bitcoin or blitz seminars and participate in lectures on a variety of bitcoin-related topics.
5- Project period
May 23 - August 15
Students work on their Summer of Bitcoin projects.
6- Assessment
July 4th - July 8th
Mentors send interim assessments to their students. Eligible students will receive the first part of the scholarship. Students present projects
August 15 - August 22
Students submit a final project report that includes project summaries and links to submit project code or artifacts. The tutors submit a final evaluation
August 22 - August 26
Teachers evaluate student requests or project shortcomings to determine if students have successfully completed their bitcoin summer projects.
7-Results announced
August 29
Students will be notified of the success/failure of their Summer of Bitcoin projects. Eligible students will receive the final portion of the scholarship and a certificate of completion.
8-Job recommendations
After completing the program
Students who perform very well throughout the program are offered internship opportunities as full-fledged roles at the largest number of bitcoin companies in the world.
